9.07.060 Mechanical blowers—Sound limit.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any backpack-mounted mechanical blower used to blow leaves, grass cuttings, paper, trash, or any other type of unattached debris or material off sidewalks, driveways, lawns, or other surfaces if such mechanical blower has a decibel rating over 65 dB as rated by the manufacturer of the mechanical blower. For purposes of this Section, the decibel rating shall be taken at a point fifty (50) feet from the fully operating mechanical blower.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any handheld mechanical blower used to blow leaves, dirt, grass cuttings, paper, trash, or any other type of unattached debris or material off sidewalks, driveways, lawns or other surfaces if such mechanical blower has a decibel rating over 70 dB as rated by the manufacturer of the mechanical blower. For purposes of this Section, the decibel rating shall be taken at a point fifty (50) feet from the fully operating mechanical blower. (Ord. 147 § 1 (part), 2005)
