6.09.010 Definitions.

For purposes of this Chapter the following terms shall have the meaning set out below.

"Collector" shall mean the person, firm, partnership, or corporation authorized by contract with the City of Monte Sereno to collect and dispose of garbage or rubbish or waste material as provided for in this Chapter.

A. "Garbage" means every accumulation of animal, vegetable, and other matter that attends the preparation, consumption, decay or dealing in, or storage of, meats, fish, fowls, birds, fruits or vegetables. The term "garbage" does not include dishwater, waste water, or dead animals.

B. "Health officer" shall mean the Santa Clara County Health Officer.

C. "Recyclable materials" means any paper, glass, cardboard, plastic, used motor oil, ferrous metal or aluminum and any other recyclable material that has been segregated from other refuse by placing in separate containers or by other such physical separation and placed for collection separately from garbage, refuse, rubbish or other waste matter.

D. "Rubbish" means any wood, leaves, dead trees or branches thereof, chips, shavings, woodenware, dodgers, printed matter, paper, pasteboard, grass, rags, straw, boots, shoes, hats and all other combustible matter not included in this Chapter under the term "garbage".

E. "Waste matter" means natural soil, earth, sand, clay, gravel, loam, manure, stone, bricks, brick-bats, plaster, Portland cement, crockery, queensware, glass, glassware, ashes, cinders, shells, metals and all other non-combustible material.
